In mid-July, a marsh sandpiper was spotted in the Eempolders. Although I’m not usually someone who chases bird alerts — no matter how rare — I couldn’t resist this time. After all, the Eempolders are practically around the corner.

After some searching among the common snipes, the marsh sandpiper eventually showed itself very well. Foraging in the shallow water, it even came a bit closer. The light was quite challenging, but through the binoculars I got excellent views. I also managed to take two photos that were definitely worth sharing here.
