Together with a friend, we booked an excursion to the Marker Wadden — a nature reserve dominated by birdlife, accessible only by ferry. It’s a beautiful area, full of water and marsh birds.
For me, it was my first time seeing a long-tailed duck (ijseend), and also my first black-necked grebe (geoorde fuut) in breeding plumage. Absolutely stunning!
